One of my favourite political/historical commentators is Dan Carlin. He releases a current events podcast called 'Common Sense', every two weeks or so and a more elaborate history podcast called 'Hardcore History'.
The most recent episode of Hardcore History is titled 'Death Throes of the Republic, Part 4'. It is excellent as always.
